Things to note
- Any campaigns with CTV, DCO or Gambling products, must be set-up in MSFT Monetize via Portal 3.0.
- For an upsell involving an existing campaign to add CTV or DCO, confirm the setup approach with analyst teams, as the process may vary.
- Campaigns including DCO products must be created at least a day before the go live date. This is because it may take up to 24 hours for the AOC team to manually add Partner audiences in the DSP post Portal creation. This is part of a QA check and will be done proactively with no input needed from CSMs.
Prerequisites
- Account Setup: Once a contract is signed in SFDC, accounts are automatically created in Portal. Users must review certain settings, please refer to this checklist.
-
Advertiser & Pixel Set up:
- New Accounts: Advertisers & Pixels are all set via Integrations section in Portal.
- Winbacks (previously ran with Sojern): Submit an advertiser/pixel creation task in Asana, as this process continues to be managed by the AdOps team.
Note: For further information, please consult this article.
Creation Process
To start creating a MSFT CPM campaign in Portal 3.0:
- Navigate to the Campaigns tab
- On the top right corner, click on Create New Campaign and select Display (CPM)
- Enter the Integration Key in the field and double-check this is the correct contract name
- Add the Navi Advertiser ID, check the advertiser name and hit Verify
-
The campaign setup process is split in 4 or 5 steps:
Campaign Settings

Creative Set Settings (if required)
Audience Settings
Review
Campaign settings will be transferred over to each product. Each product can then be customised in the subsequent steps.
For full setup details, please check this demo or consult the Managed Campaign Set Up Quick Start Guide.
Troubleshooting
Campaign Settings:
- In the Navi Advertiser ID field, input the Navi Advertiser ID.
- Contract details and Associated Products: Any changes in one of these sections should be done on the SFDC side first. Portal will reflect these changes after a 1-hour sync delay.
- New Site Lists: Make sure any new site lists are fully created in Microsoft or by the Analyst team before you begin. New lists only sync once a day.
- Location Targeting: This follows Microsoft’s inclusive logic, where selecting a specific location automatically excludes all other regions.
-
Targeting Tactics: Note that:
- Competitive Targeting is currently restricted to the Destinations and Tourism vertical only.
- Retargeting or Reactivation: you must check the Layer with Sojern Data to enable the qualified lines.
Product Settings:
- Each product is listed individually on this page.
- The Campaign settings applied previously will automatically pre-populate to each product. Click on Edit to customise these settings per product.
- If you have multiple Creative sets select the checkbox on this page.
- Location Targeting: For CTV, make sure the country you are targeting has a supported deal list already created by consulting the CTV Invest Deal List. If the location requested is not on this list, please reach out to the #ctv channel in slack before continuing with the campaign set up. Do not complete the setup without these deals, as the campaign will fail to launch.
- Targeting Tactics: For CTV, we only use Prospecting.
Creative Settings:
- This stage will only appear in the progress bar at the top if the Creative Sets checkbox was enabled at the Product Settings level.
Audience Settings:
-
If you have a complex combination of different audiences, select them and create a task for the AOC to help with this bespoke request, after the campaign has been submitted.
Note: Please see this deck for other examples of bespoke settings.
- If all products have the same audience settings, you can set up audiences in the first product and then click on Apply Audience Selection to All Products at the bottom of the individual product box. This will only apply to products with no creative sets.
- Apply Audience Settings to All Creative Sets within this Product can be used if you have the same audiences across a set of creative sets or if you have multiple products with the same audience you can use Apply Audience Selection to All Products to use the audience selected across all of your products.
Review
- On this page, you can review all settings before launching.
- If you need to make any changes after the campaign has been submitted, please reach out to the AOC team. Please be aware that this will delay your campaign launch.
Campaign Status:
- Once the main campaign page, under the Managed Campaign tab, you will see your submitted campaign. Click on the arrow to open the campaign and see the channels set up.
- It usually takes up to 6 hours for the status to move from Submitted to Pending.
